Crawling to the End

Last week, we were jogging along when a colleague came zipping past us on his bike. We smiled and waved and returned home to find an email from him, in which he gave us props for running so early in the morning and asked if we were training for anything... and then he included a link to this video...

Does that mean we reminded him of this video??? I really hope we looked at least a little better off than these Ironman ladies. Especially considering we were only on mile 2.5.

Oy vey,

  1. I've heard from a few people that's fake? But I could be wrong.

  4. Liv, things like these just bring my motivation back. By posting this video that I have never seen in my life, you just made my day. You just woke up an awareness that I had lost....thank you...thank you...thank you...
It reminds me of a guy I saw yesterday....I was driving back to Equinox after teaching a kickboxing class, and I saw it....they were 3 guys running, coming from Cedar Lane turning south towards N.I.H. on Wisconsin Ave/Rockville Pike...one of these guys had only one leg and was on crutches, no prosthesis...keeping up with the other 2 guys...I watched this incredible scene unfold in-front of my eyes, I couldn't believe it. I I said to myself, "That man has a Lion Heart". I thought I was tired since I had just done my 3rd workout of the day(still had another yoga class to take), but as soon as I saw the man on crutches, my eyes were opened and my energy started coming back....I tried to think how strong he was, how hard it was on his shoulders and forearms, how tough it was on his left leg and knee, how extra his lungs had to pump Oxygen.....then this video....it just reminds me how grateful I am to have all it takes to stay fit....I just need to have the guts to do it...no more slacking on my part...it is time to get started....

  5. Oh my gosh, if that's real - that's completely amazing. I'm pretty sure if I ever did an Ironman I would certainly be crawling across the finish line. Yikes!

  6. Ha, I've felt like that at the end of a race before ... but fortunately I've always stayed vertical!
